Samsung announces a series of Devices, especially smart TVs
At its CES press event on January 9, Samsung announced a number of new devices coming to the US and the plans for new upgradeable smart TVs, a refreshed Series 9 notebook, and a new version of the Galaxy Tab 7.7, along with a bevy of other new products. Samsung is knee-deep in all sorts of segments, from mobile devices to home appliances to televisions, to name a few. It’s wading further into the consumer electronics pool with the next wave of connected TVs.
Many of the TVs Samsung launches this year will become part of Samsung’s new “smart evolution” program, which allows customers to buy and insert “evolution kit” chips into a slot on the back of the TV to augment its hardware profile. Samsung’s initiative focuses on three areas: smart interaction, smart content and smart evolution. This year’s models will include an integrated camera and microphone so your TV can “listen, see and do,” Boo-Keun Yoon, president of Samsung’s consumer electronics division, said. Samsung's LED smart TV, the ES8000, will come in sizes up to 75 inches. The ES8000 will have an integrated camera and microphone to allow control by gestures and voice commands. The camera will also make use of facial recognition, logging recognizable users into their own profiles on the TV. Samsung was vague on details, but said the first chips will come to market in 2013 for use in this year’s TVs.
Samsung also showed off a 55-inch Super OLED TV, It has a built-in camera and mic for voice and gesture control recognition, as well as a dual-core processor for app multitasking. The new Super OLED HDTV will have every feature Samsung offers in screens, matching its 8000 series HDTVs, which are getting refreshed and seeing UNES8000 edge-lit versions and PNE8000 plasma versions. The OLED HDTV joins LG's as the world's biggest OLED-based screens at 55 inches. It is 3D-capable and features a new dual-core processor that can run multiple Samsung Apps.

A new Galaxy Tab 7.7 with access to Verizon’s 4G LTE network was announced alongside a US version of the Galaxy Note, a 5.3-inch handheld that’s met some popularity overseas. The Galaxy Note will make extensive use of a stylus that can detect 256 levels of pressure, allowing for a writing experience that better mimics that of a pen and paper.

How to use Techspansion's open source to build iSquint and VisualHub
Squint and VisualHub, the popular video converter on Mac OS X have now gone open source. They also have got new names, Film Redux (VisualHub) and PunyVid (iSquint). As you may or may not know, the developer, Techspanion has closed shop
and after an outcry from fans, it has released the source code.

This a tutorial on how to use Techspansion's open source to build iSquint and VisualHub.
Here are two parts:

What you need:
Mac OS X 10.5, Xcode 3.0 and Techspansion's open source
Part 1, How to use open source to build VisualHub (Film Redux)?
Step 1, Open the open source, you will see two folders: FilmRedux and PunyVid. Open FilmRedux and find the file "FilmRedux.xcodeproj".
Step 2, Double click "FilmRedux.xcodeproj" to open it with Xcode.
Step 3, Click the button "Build and Go" to build VisualHub (Film Redux). That's all.
Part 2, How to use open source to build iSquint( PunyVid)?
Step 1, Open the open source, you will see two folders: FilmRedux and PunyVid. Open PunyVid and find the file "PunyVid.xcodeproj".
Step 2, Double click "PunyVid.xcodeproj" to open it with Xcode.
Step 3, Click the button "Build and Go" to build iSquint (PunyVid). That's all.
The operation is simple, but the stability would be a great concern, it kept reporting error messages during my try which is really frustrated. Perhaps it's not wise enough to spend hours coping with those errors messages, as there must be some commercial programs that perform much more reliably, like the Video Converter for Mac.

How to upload videos to YouTube easily and quickly on Mac
Google has released basic software called Vidnik which is the quickest, simplest way to make movies using the built - in camera on your Macintosh and upload those movies to your YouTube account. You must first sign up for a free YouTube membership to upload videos. You can use Vidnik to create a video diary, or just to quickly record a video comment to attach to an existing YouTube video.
