1. A PSP
2. A computer

From the Department of the Obvious: Poll Finds Parents Are Worried About Privacy on Social Networks

A new national poll released today by Common Sense Media, assessing how well social networks’ protect kids online, showed what should come as a shock to exactly no one:

Not very well, at least according to parents.

A full 75 percent of them give social networking sites such as Facebook a negative rating for the task.

About 2,000 parents were polled by the nonprofit media organization, as well as 400 teens, who also gave thumbs down to social networks’ ability to police themselves.

There will be a big roundtable discussion on the topic in Washington, D.C. this morning, which will include Common Sense Media head Jim Steyer; Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski; Federal Trade Commission Jon Leibowitz; and Anthony Miller, Deputy Secretary of Education.

Along with the poll, San Francisco-based Common Sense Media said it will also announce the launch of the “Protect Our Privacy–Protect Our Kids” campaign to help parents protect kids’ reputation and personal information online.

ISuppli on Chip Market: Curb Your Enthusiasm

With Intel and AMD both dialing back expectations for their third quarters, citing weaker than expected demand for consumer PCs, it was only a matter of time before market research outfits began trimming back theirs as well. And iSuppli did just that this morning, dropping its 2010 semiconductor industry revenue growth forecast to 32 percent from 35.1. “There has been a significant slowdown in the second half in consumer demand for some electronic devices, including PCs,” iSuppli Senior VP Dale Ford said in a statement. “Meanwhile, inventories have been building throughout the semiconductor supply chain. These factors will conspire to cause a small sequential decline in semiconductor revenue in the fourth quarter.”

Disappointing.

That said, 2010 chip sales are still expected to hit $302 billion, up from $228 billion in 2009, despite the reduced outlook. But knowing that hasn’t had much effect on semiconductor stocks, which are mostly trading lower today.

Slight of Handheld: T-Mobile Appears, Disappears from Windows Phone 7 Launch Agenda

When it debuts on October 11th, Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 OS will be available on devices from T-Mobile as well as AT&T.

And that’s official.

Moments ago, the carrier–whose name was mysteriously removed from a Windows Phone 7 launch event invitation earlier today–confirmed its participation in next week’s WP7 festivities. “T-Mobile has indicated support for Windows Phone 7 and will announce details of our Windows Phone 7 offering on Oct. 11,” the company said in a statement.

Thank God for that. Because with Microsoft’s now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t invitations, it was getting difficult to tell.

This morning the agenda for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 worldwide launch event read:

T-Mobile reps will be present for device showing and their service offering discussion / Microsoft developer architect will demonstrate Windows Phone 7 applications

But after word of T-Mobile’s inclusion in the event spread, Microsoft removed the carrier’s name, changing the text to:

We will present a Windows Phone 7 device / Microsoft developer architect will demonstrate Windows Phone 7 applications

It’s not clear why Microsoft changed the text, though I imagine AT&T–the company’s “premier partner” for the WP7 launch–couldn’t have been too happy sharing billing with a rival carrier.

Gphone vs iPhone, which is better?

As iPhone is the most talked about smart phone on the planet and it has won millions of hearts of users by his multi-touch screen and other powerful/beautiful design. Of course, iPhone has brought so much money for Apple.

3. Mobile Network
For mobile Network, they both have Quad Band GSM/EDGE UMTS, but G1 uses T-Mobile-only US 3G and iPhone uses AT&T-only US 3G.

4. Touch screen and input
About touch screen display, iPhone has Multi-touch 3.5 480*320 163 ppi, but G1 does not support mulit-touch. And in input aspect, G1 uses keyboard, Trackball, 6 buttons and touch screen, while iPhone has home button and multi touch screen.

5. Expansion
In expansion ports, G1 uses SD, ExtUSB(USB+audio) but iPhone has headphone, Dock connector (USB+ audio, video, remote). They have the same wireless WiFi 820.11b/g Limited Bluetooth 2.0 EDR.

6. Others
About hardware, the two phones perform almost the same and the only big difference is the iPhone uses multi-touch screen and G1’s camera is better than iPhone. And iPhone has a 1400Ah battery with 300 hours standby time but G1 only has a 1150Ah battery with 5 hours talk time and 130 standby.

Part 2: Software.

iPhone and G1 are both using Webkit as their browser engine. In media playback aspect, iPhone supports music, audiobook, video, streaming, downloads and rental, while for G1, only music playback. G1 has Android Market as its third party software store while iPhone has iPhone app store. G1’s platform is Modified Java development and iPhone uses Cocoa Touch.

Part 3: Their performance as media player.

G1 supports H.264, 3GPP, MPEG4, Codec 3GP video and MP3、AAC、AAC+、WMA、MPEG4、WAV、MIDI、REAL、AUDIO、OGG audio formats.
iPhone supports AAC，Protected AAC，MP3，MP3 VBR，Audible (formats 1, 2, 3), Apple Lossless, AIFF, WAV audio formats and H.264 (up to 1.5Mbps), MPEG-4 (up to 2.5Mbps) 640*480, 30fps, AAC-LC (up to 160 Kbps), 48kHz dimensional sound .m4v, .mp4 and .mov format.
